Masterfil

Masterfil is a type of filter media that has been designed specifically to retain very fine particulate but resist blinding/clogging.

There are several grades of paper used in shortening filtration, each yielding different results regarding retentive capacity and flow resistance.

Paper filters are not considered to be technically constructed. They use a generic binder to hold the celluloid compound together. The entire structure is not utilized in the separation process, and uniformity across the filter surface will vary.

Masterfil filter media made of engineered fibers of a specific size that are mechanically bound by a process that will yield very close tolerances and consistent construction, producing an extremely uniform filter that will utilize 100% of the structure. There are no chemical or artificial binders present.

Masterfil employs a unique process in separation technology termed depth filtration. Paper filters use only surface filtration.

Masterfil’s separation is three dimensional, whereas paper is mono-dimensional. This enables the Masterfil media to utilize the much greater surface area to affect separation while not allowing the stacking and compressing of particulate at the surface level. The media can retain a much higher volume of particulate as well as much finer particulate while providing a much greater open area for a more productive flow.
